Should I Buy the RTX 5080 Now or Wait for Black Friday?

I'm in the process of building a new gaming PC to upgrade my old setup, and I've been eyeing the Gigabyte WINDFORCE OC SFF GeForce RTX 5080 for the last couple of months. I've noticed that the price has dropped significantly from $1399 to $1299, and now it's at $999. I'm planning to buy it on Black Friday or Cyber Monday to take advantage of the sales, but my friends are suggesting that I should buy it now since it's at the MSRP. I wanted to get some additional opinions on whether I should purchase it now or wait a bit longer. Any advice would be appreciated!

I actually bought the 5080 Asus Prime for $999 at Micro Center about two weeks ago, and I think that price is pretty solid. If you’ve been seeing it drop, it might be a good time to jump on it.

Just a heads up, if the cheaper version of that card isn't available right now, you might be looking at spending around $1,199.99 instead. You might also want to consider the RTX 5070 Ti if you're open to it; it's only about 20% less powerful and usually comes in cheaper. Plus, it's available at MSRP!

I just checked Amazon, and they have the exact card listed for $999 now. Can anyone confirm if that's true?
