How Do I Know If I’m Installing the Right WiFi Drivers for My New PC?

I recently built my own PC and I'm trying to get the WiFi working, but I'm not sure if I'm installing the correct drivers. My motherboard is a Gigabyte B650M Gaming Plus WiFi (rev 1.2). I downloaded the WiFi drivers from the official website onto a USB drive, but after extracting them on my PC, I'm still unable to connect to WiFi. Can someone help me figure out what I'm doing wrong?

You mentioned you extracted the installer, but did you actually click on it to run the installation? That's an important step!

First off, make sure that you've installed the WiFi antennas that come with your motherboard. Without those, you won't get a connection at all.

Were you able to run the executable file for the drivers after extracting? Sometimes it requires a restart to take effect, so be sure to follow all the prompts correctly.

It’s worth noting that Intel has been the go-to for WiFi cards on many AMD boards, including yours. If that’s what you have, great! But if you’re experiencing issues, you might want to look for alternate drivers from Qualcomm or Realtek. Also, MediaTek cards are typically problematic—you might want to steer clear if you can! For a more permanent fix, check out Gigabyte’s site for possible driver downloads that suit your AM5 board.
