Need Help Improving My Resume and Finding Entry-Level SysAdmin Roles

I've been on the job hunt for System Admin, DevOps, and Cloud positions, but I keep facing rejection after rejection. I'm starting to think that my resume might be the issue, but after looking at it for so long, I can't pinpoint what needs to change. I'd love to get feedback from anyone, especially from a hiring manager's perspective. What do you think stands out in my resume, or what could be improved?

Also, if anyone knows of any entry-level roles or leads in System Administration, I would be super thankful if you could share them with me! Here's my resume: [link].

One key thing to keep in mind is the level of roles you're applying for. Since you're just starting out, it might help to focus your applications on entry-level positions only. The job market can be tough right now, especially for new grads.

Thanks for the insight! I've been mostly targeting entry-level roles, but I'm finding the openings to be really limited.

Your experience is definitely a big factor. Since you're applying for sysadmin/devops/cloud roles, but your resume makes you seem more like an engineer, that could confuse recruiters. It might be helpful to explicitly state what you're best at and apply for roles that align with that. It’s better to have a more focused image rather than trying to fit into multiple categories.

I noticed your resume leans more towards engineering than sysadmin roles, which might be contributing to the rejections. Consider focusing on the positions you're most interested in and tailor your resume accordingly. If you're aiming for a junior DevOps role, tweak your resume to highlight that while cutting out unrelated info. Clear focus will help you stand out more to employers.

Be careful with personal information on your resume. When sharing it online, it's better to remove those details. When it comes to your resume content, I think your summary could use some spice! Instead of just listing tech skills, try to share something about yourself—what makes you unique and how your skills fit the role you're going for. Additionally, showcasing any relevant projects or classes can make your education section stronger.

I appreciate the tips! I’ve updated my resume and removed any personal info. Just trying to get it right!

Exactly! Resumes should reflect who you are and what you can bring to the table.
