Hey everyone! I recently got a warning on my PC saying I can't upgrade to Windows 11 due to hardware limitations, and I'm a bit surprised because Windows 10 doesn't feel that outdated to me. Since support for Windows 10 is ending, I'm wondering: is it worth making the switch to Linux? I mainly use my PC for gaming, especially MMORPGs. Any thoughts?

You're still good on Windows 10 for about a year since support is extended! Just hang tight and see how it goes before making any big moves.
Many MMORPGs actually work well on Linux! You should check out ProtonDB to see if your favorites are supported. For example, I looked up Dofus and it got a Silver rating, which means it's pretty playable. Just a heads up, Proton isn't a distro; it's a compatibility layer that lets you play Windows games on Linux. It's a game changer!
I've actually done some tweaks to run Windows 11 on much older machines with simple registry hacks. If you're up for it, it's definitely possible!
If you're on Windows 10, you can extend your support by enrolling for ESU updates, and you might even get them through Microsoft Rewards! But if you just want to keep everything running, there’s a script called Massgrave that works wonders to activate updates. It can be a bit technical, but it gets the job done!
Honestly, you don't really need to rush into switching. Even if Microsoft says your hardware isn't fit for Windows 11, you can still run Windows 10 just fine for a while. Just be sure to ditch the bloatware like Edge and Cortana. Most third-party software should continue to work on Windows 10 until a new version comes out—Windows 12 might just surprise us all!
Thanks for the tip! I'm totally new to Linux, so a bit of guidance is really helpful. So, having a Silver rating means I can play it without too much hassle? That sounds promising!
