Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 Won’t Boot—Need Help!

I recently bought a Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 14ALC05, but it didn't come with a battery or SSD. I installed a crucial 1TB SSD and tried to set it up with Windows 11 that I had installed on another PC. However, I'm running into some errors:

- 00008270: Real Time Clock Error - Check Date and Time settings
- 0B0B8251: System CMOS Checksum bad
- BIInitializeLibrary failed Oxc0000185

I also can't seem to access the BIOS setup; it just sends me back to the boot menu. The SSD is recognized, but I'm stuck. Any suggestions?

It sounds like your issue might be related to the CMOS battery. If your motherboard doesn't have a separate CMOS battery, it needs the main battery to maintain time and BIOS settings. When the battery is absent, those settings won't be retained once power is off. Also, remember that transferring an OS from one computer to another only works if BIOS configurations (like boot mode and security settings) are identical. So check the settings on your other PC and match them on your Lenovo as best as you can.

To get your installation working, I recommend doing a clean format of the SSD on the other PC first. Then use a USB boot drive to install Windows directly onto the SSD. You can't create a bootable SSD on a different PC and expect it to work, so definitely follow that route!

Also, just a heads up, if you've got an SSD installed but still can't boot from USB media, that's an issue. Double-check your boot priorities in the BIOS, if you can access it, and make sure USB is set to boot first. Otherwise, you might be looking at a possible motherboard issue.
