I just finished building a new PC with a 500GB SSD in 2025, but I'm starting to worry if I made the right choice. My country's currency is pretty weak, so I had to stick with a budget-friendly lineup. Here are my specs:
- Motherboard: Gigabyte B650M Gaming Wifi
- CPU: R5 7500F
- GPU: Zotac RTX 5060 Solo
- RAM: 1 x 16GB Kingston Fury Beast 5600MHz
- SSD: TREK GEN4 500GB SSD
The big issue is I just realized that my motherboard only has one M.2 NVMe slot. Should I be concerned about the single SSD or my RAM configuration?

You’re not in trouble. Just keep an eye on your SSD space; if it gets nearly full, it can slow down your system significantly. SATA SSDs are a good option since they're usually cheaper than NVMe.
This size will fill up quickly if you’re playing newer games. You might consider adding regular SATA SSDs later for additional storage. They can be a reliable backup without breaking the bank.
You’ll be fine! Once you save enough, you can add a second drive when you need more space. Just enjoy your new rig!
But remember, my motherboard only has one M.2 NVMe slot.
