New to Linux: What Distro Should I Choose for Development, Gaming, and School?

Hey everyone! I'm new to Linux and I'm looking to install it on my laptop for daily tasks. I plan to use it for development, gaming, and schoolwork. I've been considering Ubuntu, but I'd love to hear what recommendations the more experienced Linux users have for a beginner like me. I prefer the GNOME desktop environment over others like Linux Mint. Just to give you some context, my laptop has an Intel Core i5-10300H processor and an Nvidia Geforce GTX-1650 GPU. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Both Ubuntu and Fedora are solid choices when it comes to popular distros with GNOME. Since they’re widely supported, you'll find plenty of resources and help when you need it. Personally, I started with Ubuntu during my studies, and I've stuck with it since. Plus, if you go with Ubuntu, the app for installing Nvidia drivers makes it easy—you just click a button and it's done!
