Help! My iPhone 5c Won’t Connect to Wi-Fi

I recently got an iPhone 5c mainly for taking photos and using it as an iPod for offline music. However, I'm having trouble connecting it to Wi-Fi. I suspect it's because my home Wi-Fi is 5GHz and the iPhone 5c is 3G. Is there a way to get around this? I can connect to my mobile hotspot just fine, but I don't want to waste my limited data trying to figure out how to log in to a new Apple ID or download apps. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

The 5G cellular label is misleading here; it doesn't affect your Wi-Fi connection. Can your iPhone connect to other Wi-Fi networks or just your hotspot? That'll help narrow it down.

Thanks for clearing that up! It only connects to my hotspot; I haven't tried any other networks.

When you try to connect to your Wi-Fi, what exactly happens? Do you see your network in the list? Do you enter the password correctly? If you're getting an error saying "unable to connect to network," it might be a settings issue. Let me know what steps you're taking to connect so I can help you better!

It sees my network and lets me input the password, but then I get that error message no matter how many times I try. I've reset settings and restarted everything—still nothing works!

5GHz Wi-Fi and 3G are completely different things, so that's not the issue. Try resetting your network settings on the iPhone. Sometimes a fresh start can help clear up connection glitches. That's your best bet to get it working again.

I reset the network settings, but it didn't work. Got any other suggestions?
