How can I figure out whose internet causes lag while gaming?

I'm having some serious issues while playing Total War with a friend. I'm connected via an ethernet cable with good WiFi, while my friend uses some kind of dongle to connect to 4G. We experience a lot of lag, and sometimes the connection drops entirely, which really frustrates us. I suspect it's his connection that's causing the issues, but he insists it's mine. We've done some tests that show no packet loss or ping problems on my end. Is there a way for us to monitor and see whose internet is dropping out during our game sessions? I've tried looking for solutions online, but I get confused easily. Any help would be appreciated!

Are you using both WiFi and Ethernet at the same time? Because I thought they conflicted. Just confirming, you're only on Ethernet, right?

You might want to try using a tool like PingPlotter. It continuously sends packets to an address (like 8.8.8.8) and gives you details on response times, dropped packets, and jitter, which can help diagnose the problem.

Thanks for the suggestion! I'll check out PingPlotter and see what it shows during our games.

Honestly, 4G internet can be pretty inconsistent, which might be why you're experiencing these issues. It's tough to prove to him, but it sounds like his connection is definitely the culprit here.
