Hey everyone! I took a Python course last year in grade 10 and I'm currently in a Java course in grade 11. I'm really eager to improve my coding skills and get into web and app development. I've been considering enrolling in Harvard's CS50 because I've heard great things about the certificate being prestigious and that it would help me create impressive projects for my resume and university applications. I'm curious if those claims are true or if there's a more reputable course out there that might be better for me. I know the certificate costs $200, but I'm hoping my parents will cover that cost. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks!

Have you thought about creating something yourself? Building and deploying your own projects can be an awesome learning experience—and you’ll learn a ton that way, too. Try that along with the course for a better grasp of skills!
Honestly, the certificate isn't that valuable in the job market. But the curriculum itself is solid, so it's definitely worth checking out for the skills you'll gain. It's a great starting point for anyone wanting to dive into computer science!
You actually don’t need to pay for the EdX certificate. If you complete CS50X, Harvard will provide you with a free certificate. While I wouldn’t call it prestigious, the course is well-rounded and I definitely recommend it just to learn. It’s a fantastic intro to computer science, and you’ll get a lot out of it if you’re genuinely interested!

Thanks! What do you think I should do after CS50 to keep advancing my skills?
