I've been receiving legit AWS marketing emails at some strange addresses on my domain that have never existed. The emails are clearly from Amazon SES and not phishing attempts. For example, I'm seeing log entries for addresses like '[email protected]' and '[email protected]'. There are dozens of these random addresses, and they seem to be getting marketing materials despite not being created or used anywhere. Has anyone experienced this? Is there a way to properly contact AWS to stop these emails? Could this be due to a misconfigured list on their end? AWS support hasn't been helpful and just suggests unsubscribing. Any advice would be appreciated!

It’s possible that someone inadvertently used those random emails to sign up for an AWS summit. They usually collect email addresses for marketing, and in some regions, they might not require explicit confirmation. If you can, check if your AWS account manager can help. They might know more about the subscription status of these addresses.
But the thing is, none of those emails have ever been registered. They're clearly auto-generated! I doubt anyone actually intentional signed them up for anything.
Could just be an overzealous email marketer trying to meet their quota! It's not uncommon for companies to blast emails like this. Still, reaching out to AWS is crucial if this continues.
That makes sense, but typically, for legal reasons, they should confirm the subscription. It could be a loophole on their part. Definitely reach out to your account manager to resolve the issue.
