Why Can’t I Change the Wired Accessories Setting on My iPhone?

I'm using an iPhone 16 Pro Max with iOS 26 and I'm having trouble with the Wired Accessories setting in Privacy & Security. I found out about this option to help prevent 'juice jacking' from an article, so I wanted to change the setting from 'Always Allow' to a more secure one. However, when I go to the settings, everything is greyed out, and I see a message saying, "This setting is managed by your organization and cannot be changed." I don't belong to any organization or have my phone managed in any way. Is this a bug in iOS 26 or is there something else going on with my settings?

This looks like an acknowledged bug. I found a discussion from July on Reddit about the same issue. I have an iPhone 15 Pro Max and I face this problem too, but my iPad running iPadOS 26 doesn't. It's definitely odd, and it seems like you're not alone in this.

I’m experiencing the same issue on my iPhone Air, and it’s brand new. I've never had my phone managed before and I find it strange that these options are greyed out. Hopefully Apple addresses this soon!

I tried turning off my VPN and custom DNS along with restarting my phone, but the problem still persists. I'd recommend sending Apple some feedback about it. Maybe they’ll fix it in the next update!

Same experience here with my new iPhone 17 Pro Max, also running iOS 26. I don't have any management profiles, and I'm not part of any organization. It's frustrating, right?

Honestly, this issue is weird. You should still have some security measures even if the article seems off. Have you checked to see if any profiles might have been stealthily installed? If not, maybe a reset and reinstall of iOS could help. Just restore from backup after that to see if it works.

I’m confident there are no management profiles on my iPhone. I just want to change the setting, but it’s like it’s stuck. Sounds like this might just be a bug in the new version.
