Hey everyone! I just switched to Linux Mint with Cinnamon today and I'm having a bit of trouble getting the Spyro Reignited Trilogy to run. I installed it through Steam using Proton, but when I try to launch the game, it seems to start and then just fails without even showing a loading screen. The Play button goes from 'Launching' back to just 'Play' without any errors that I can see. If you need more details from me, just let me know!

What GPU are you using? You mentioned that using WineD3D worked, but if your GPU can handle it, you should definitely try using Vulkan instead. It'll just give you a better experience overall.

This isn't the wrong subreddit, by the way! It's all good to ask for help here, especially since it's focused on Linux newbies. Ask away!

First things first, check out ProtonDB for Spyro Reignited Trilogy. That's a good resource for finding troubleshooting tips. Try changing the launch options in Steam to `PROTON_LOG=1 %command%`. This will generate a log file in your home directory that might give you more insight into what's going wrong. Also, make sure your hardware supports Vulkan 1.3, as that's necessary for the standard version of Proton. Good luck!

Thanks for the tip! The ProtonDB info actually fixed the issue for me.
