Why won’t my PC post with my new GPU?

Hey everyone! I've just upgraded my PC parts. Previously, I was using an Asus TUF X470 Gaming Plus motherboard with a Ryzen 5600X, 32GB of DDR4 RAM, and a 9070XT GPU. Now, I've switched to a Ryzen 9800X3D, a B650 Prime motherboard, and upgraded my RAM to 64GB DDR5, but I'm having trouble. My PC won't post; I'm getting 1 long beep followed by 3 short beeps, and there's no signal to the monitor. The GPU worked perfectly in the old setup, but it seems to be an issue now. I've read that 9070XTs sometimes have trouble fully seated in PCIe slots, so I'm planning to build the PC outside the case later today. Do you think it would help to use a PCIe extension cable for such a large card? Any other thoughts on what could be causing the problem? I've already updated the BIOS. Thanks in advance for your insights!

It sounds like you might be dealing with a driver issue. If your motherboard has integrated graphics, you could boot into Windows with that and use DDU to completely remove any old drivers before installing the new ones. If not, the old GPU could work to get you into the system.

I thought the same, but shouldn't it at least post to the BIOS without having drivers? Just feels odd it won't show anything at all.

Good point! Actually, I just realized the 9800X3D does have integrated graphics! Guess I can try that.
