Hey there! I just got this work PC from my job after they upgraded me, and I'm a total noob when it comes to PCs. The hardware is around ten years old, but I mainly want to use it for playing Sims 4 with some mods for my wife and to manage a digital music collection. I'm hoping I won't need to do many upgrades. Also, I wanted to confirm that if I get a new hard drive, all of the old work files will be erased, right? Here's what I have:
- GPU: GeForce GTX 1050 TI
- Processor: AMD Fx 6300
- PSU: Thermaltake Smart 500
- Hard Drive: Toshiba Pc P300
- Motherboard: Asrock 970A-G/3.1
Let me know if you need more information. Thanks a bunch!

Honestly, if that's all you're looking to do, your setup is good enough. If you’re considering a new hard drive, you can back up your files, but if you want a fresh start, just go for a new SSD. Trust me, it's an upgrade you won't regret!
Got it! Just to clarify, I don't want to keep any old work files, so I'm ready for a fresh system.
Your CPU is a bit on the lower side of recommended specs, but it should handle Sims 4 just fine. Don't stress too much about it!
Yep, I agree! An SSD is definitely worth it. After you upgrade, just test the game and see how it performs. I think you'll be happy with it!
