Experiencing Major Performance Issues After Upgrading to Windows 11, Any Tips?

I recently upgraded my PC to Windows 11 with a clean install, and I'm facing terrible performance issues. Here are my specs: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D, 7900 XT GPU, 32GB RAM, Strix B450-F Gaming motherboard, 1000W PSU, and I'm using a 2TB Samsung 970 EVO Plus NVME for the OS. Before the upgrade, my PC wasn't suitable for Windows 11, so I updated the BIOS and configured the TPM to perform a clean install and enabled secure boot.

Now, my gaming and general PC performance have deteriorated drastically. For instance, right-clicking takes over 2 seconds to respond, which seems minor but really affects the user experience compared to how snappy it was on Windows 10. Furthermore, multitasking is nearly impossible. With two monitors, running Chrome with YouTube videos while gaming leads to choppy playback and noticeable lag.

Here's what I've tried so far: I've trimmed down the startup items, updated all software, used CCleaner for registry clean-up, followed several optimization guides on YouTube to disable non-essential background processes, and fiddled with the RAM settings in the BIOS, currently using DOCP.

I'm scratching my head about this and even contemplating another clean install, but this time I might wipe all my drives. The thought of buying a new PC is also increasingly on my mind, which I definitely want to avoid. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Did you manage to install your GPU and chipset drivers? That's a crucial step, especially after a clean install. Missing those can seriously impact performance. Be sure to grab the latest directly from AMD if you haven’t already!

You should also take a look at your drive's health. A slow drive can bottleneck performance. If you're not sure how to check, let me know what specific issues you're experiencing, and I can guide you on what to look for.

As you’re using AMD, don’t forget to check and install the chipset drivers too! These can help your system run much smoother after the Windows upgrade. Here’s a link to get them: https://www.techpowerup.com/download/amd-ryzen-chipset-drivers/.
