Hey everyone! I'm reaching out as a somewhat clueless dad trying to buy a gaming PC for my 11-year-old son. He currently plays Minecraft on an old laptop and enjoys Switch games, but I want to get him something that can handle PC gaming as well. Christmas is coming up, and I have no idea what specs to look for or what a decent budget might be. I'd love your advice on the minimum specs I should consider for a gaming PC that would be great for a kid his age. Also, I'm not looking to build one myself, so any recommendations on pre-built systems would be appreciated! Thanks!

For a kid his age, a setup with an AMD AM4 processor and about 16GB of RAM would work well. You could look for something like a Radeon 6600 or 6600 XT. You should be able to find a good system for around $500 to $800.
It would be really helpful to know your budget! That way, I can suggest some options that fit within it. Also, places like /r/buildapcforme can help you find a pre-built one tailored to your needs. Just keep in mind what's available in your area!
Thanks! I hadn't thought of a budget. $1,000 I guess would be the max.
You're doing great by considering getting your son a gaming PC! Before I can recommend anything, could you let me know which country you're in? Prices can vary quite a bit depending on where you live.
USA, Arizona.
They're IN buildapc, they need the 2nd one.
