I'm not looking to install anything on a PC; I'm specifically interested in an OS like a Linux distribution that is compatible with Xbox hardware and can be easily navigated with a controller. I'm thinking along the lines of something like Steam OS. This is more of a precautionary measure in case something happens with the company's support down the line!

Installing an alternative OS on an Xbox One isn't really feasible unless security features are significantly bypassed. The Xbox hardware is designed with strong protections, making it hard for alternative operating systems to run smoothly without those barriers being removed. It's complicated!
