Hey everyone! This is my first time posting here. I've been using MSI Afterburner for quite a while, and it typically works with RivaTuner to display on-screen information like FPS during games. However, recently my Windows Defender flagged RTSS.exe (Rivatuner) for trying to access my Pictures folder, which seems really strange because this software shouldn't have anything to do with pictures. I'm wondering if anyone has experienced similar issues or if RTSS could have potentially become spyware or been infected? I've already uninstalled it since I can use Nvidia's OSD instead, but I want to raise awareness about this and find out what's happening. Just to add, I can't specify the version since I uninstalled it, but I know it wasn't the latest. This flagging occurred while I wasn't using the OSD or playing games, so it doesn't really make sense. Thanks for any insight!

Good point about the potential hotkey, Trivo3! I noticed something similar recently when I didn't think I was actively using RivaTuner. It's surprising how easy it is to forget that these apps are running in the background. Also, don't worry too much about malware unless unusual behavior continues, but keeping an eye on things is always a good idea!
It sounds like there's been some confusion! You can actually download RTSS from its official page. Initially, it was just meant to assist RivaTuner, but it evolved into a tool for frame rate monitoring and high-performance video capture. It's possible that the default output for video captures might be set to save in the Screenshots folder within your Pictures directory, so maybe a default hotkey was accidentally triggered? That's just a hunch, though.
