I'm about to upgrade my HP Pavilion Desktop for the first time, and my main goal is to increase my storage space so I can install bigger games. Currently, I only have a 256GB SSD and no HDD. Should I just replace the SSD, or do you have other suggestions?

If you replace your only storage drive, you'll have to redownload Windows, so keep that in mind. Also, it's surprising you're able to game on an HP Pavilion! Definitely look into your options carefully.
Check if your Pavilion motherboard has an M.2 slot and which sizes it supports. If so, you could just buy a new NVMe SSD and find a tutorial for installation. If your SSD is already NVMe and in an M.2 slot, see if you have room for another drive. Otherwise, you’ll want to back up your files to a large USB drive and clone Windows to that drive, then transfer everything over to the new SSD once it's installed.
Make sure to list your exact Pavilion model for better guidance. It'll really help everyone give you tailored advice when they know the specs.
