Questions About My New Windows VM Setup

Hey everyone! I just got approved for a quota of 16 GPUs for my Windows VM in Central US—huge thanks for the tips on that! Now that I have this powerful machine, I have a few questions:

1. I noticed there's no option to hibernate my VM. If I simply stop it and then restart, does that achieve a similar effect? Also, will the cost really drop significantly while it's stopped?
2. I created a D: drive, but there's a warning that all data will be lost if I restart. How can I create a permanent drive to save my images and videos?
3. I'm planning to install ComfyUI to start making AI images and videos, including a fun project of creating a princess version of my wife. Any advice for a newbie?

Thanks in advance! - dave

To clarify, simply stopping the VM isn’t enough to reduce costs significantly—you need to actually stop and deallocate it. When you do that, you won’t be charged for the compute resources anymore, but remember you’ll still pay for the storage you’re using. As for hibernation, no, stopping doesn't keep it in a suspended state; it’s more like a full shutdown and boot-up.

The D drive is likely just a temporary storage option, so yeah, anything saved there can easily be lost in various situations. To make a permanent drive, just go to the storage section in your VM settings and create a new data disk. You can then format and map it in Windows. Check out the official guide for more clarity on how to do this!

That's what I did! But the disk shows a warning saying it’s temporary, making me worried about losing content. I created the D: drive without extra formatting options. What should I do?
