I recently reset my Early 2015 MacBook Pro to Yosemite, but now I can't seem to get any updates. Every time I try to check for updates through Software Update, nothing happens. I'm looking for some guidance on how to get this sorted out.

Apple has some useful articles on different methods to get macOS. You can check out the steps for downloading and installing macOS, as well as how to create a bootable USB installer. Here are the links:

The problem you’re facing likely stems from the fact that versions of OS X/macOS prior to 10.12 have expired security certificates. A great solution is to use Internet Recovery by holding down Option + Command + R when starting up your Mac. This should let you install macOS Monterey, which is the latest version that supports your model.
This would be best, I totally agree!
Thanks, this worked! I was hesitant about using Internet Recovery because I thought it was what caused my issues to begin with, but I'm glad I tried it.

Thank you!
