I'm planning to do one last upgrade for my B450 motherboard. I've decided on the Ryzen 5 5700X3D for the CPU, but I'm stuck deciding between GPUs. I've just bought a new 2K 180Hz monitor, and my gaming style is mostly single-player—I'm not into competitive or high FPS gaming. The pricing is as follows: the 9070 is $660, and the 9070XT is $760. On top of that, I need to buy a new power supply because I foolishly purchased a 500W one last time, which adds another $100 to my expenses. I've seen a lot of praise for the 9070XT, but the non-XT version uses less power and has very similar performance. I'm unsure if the 9070XT is worth the extra money. The 9070 is a significant upgrade over my current 9060XT, but I'd love some advice on which GPU to choose. Also, do you think there might be sales on these cards in the coming months, like Black Friday or Christmas in Hungary, or should I just buy one now?

For 1080p gaming, I would lean towards the 9060XT at $200 less than the 9070, especially paired with a 5700X3D. But I run a 9070 myself and I don’t miss the XT's extra performance at all, even at 4K. The 9070 is great and handles more than double the performance of the 9060XT, so think it over!
There are definitely cheaper 9070 options available, like around $560. And you don’t need to shell out $100 for a PSU; there are plenty of decent options for less. I found a list, and trust me, that $110 difference isn’t worth it.
Honestly? Just undervolt or overclock the 9070. You'll get good performance without spending more.
If you're thinking about other upgrades, the non-XT version could be the way to go. It sounds like it meets your needs without breaking the bank.
Honestly, I don’t think $760 is a fair price for the 9070XT, especially considering the difference in the Hungarian market. The 9070 is a solid card on its own and can handle modern games at 1440p with 100-120+ FPS. I played TLOU2 at that resolution with my 5070 and got over 100 FPS at high settings. Just use the extra cash for a good PSU instead!
