I bought a prebuilt PC (yeah, I know it wasn't the best move) about a year ago, and I've been slowly replacing its cheap parts with quality ones. The last upgrade I'm planning is swapping out my no-name SSD for a Western Digital M.2 in the next couple of weeks. I'm weighing my options: should I use Acronis to clone my existing SSD or go for a fresh Windows install and manually move everything from the old drive to the new one? I know cloning is more convenient, but I'm curious about how reliable it really is.

If it’s just the storage drive you’re upgrading, cloning should work fine! But keep in mind that a clean install can sometimes help your PC run smoother since it starts with a fresh configuration. It’s not absolutely necessary, though.
Exactly! I want to ensure the M.2 becomes my main boot drive and transfer all the files, games, and apps from the old SSD. If I notice my PC running slow or unstable after cloning, I might just wipe the old drive and do a clean install before bringing everything back.
