Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with my current setup since I can't upgrade to Windows 11. My PC specs are as follows:
- Motherboard: Asus ROG-STRIX B450-F
- CPU: Ryzen 5 3600
- GPU: MSI RTX 3060 Ti with dual fans
- PSU: 1200W Corsair Platinum
I thought these specs would meet the requirements for Windows 11. Is this an issue with the specs, or is something else going on?

Windows 11 has some strict security checks before installation. You can download a tool called Whynotwin from GitHub to get a detailed report on what’s causing the issues.
You basically have two routes:
1. Bypass the checks during installation, but keep in mind you might face issues after updates.
2. Consider getting a new machine, although it's frustrating to see older machines end up as eWaste when they still work fine!
I upgraded my wife’s R5 3600 on a Gigabyte B450 motherboard to Windows 11 without using any workarounds. It might just be a settings issue that needs fixing, so check what it says about your upgrade limitations.
Most of the time, I’ve seen that an upgrade issue is due to secure boot not being enabled, especially if your system was using legacy settings. Switching to GPT and disabling legacy mode could help you pass the compatibility checks for the upgrade.
I tried that but it didn’t help. Thanks for suggesting though!
Check your BIOS settings! I had a similar issue where my PC was saying it wasn't compatible, but it turned out the TPM chip just needed to be enabled. I’m pretty sure if you find that option, your PC should be good to go!
If that doesn’t work, you could try burning a Windows 11 ISO with Rufus. It lets you customize the install, like disabling the TPM check and other settings.
I tried this method as well, but it didn't fix the problem for me.

Yeah, the Microsoft health check app indicates I can upgrade, but my system settings don’t give me that option.
