Hey everyone! I'm in my third year of studying Computer Science, but looking back, I feel like I've wasted my first two years. I've mainly only got the basics down, such as C++ and OOP. Recently, I've dived into JavaScript and web development—which I find super exciting! I've been taking online courses and working on small projects like a temperature converter and my portfolio site. I dedicate about one to two hours a day to studying and I'm also trying to secure an internship, but that's been tough. I'm wondering if you all have any advice for catching up quickly and boosting my employability as a web developer. Any resource, project, or roadmap recommendations would be awesome!

Make sure you keep focusing on the core principles you're being taught in CS. Fundamentals are crucial to understanding how everything connects. When hiring, I tend to prioritize candidates who have strong logical reasoning skills and a solid foundation across the tech stack, rather than just your basic web dev skills. So, don't neglect your coursework!
It's great that you're working on personal projects! I recommend trying to code new things without heavily relying on tutorials. Learn to troubleshoot and reference documentation—it'll help you a lot. And don't forget to showcase your work on GitHub! Just a heads up though, try to find more time for coding if you can. It’ll speed up your learning.

I totally get that! I'm juggling university work and a part-time job too.
