Should I upgrade from RTX 2060 Super to 5070 or stick with 5060 Ti?

Hey everyone! I'm currently using an RTX 2060 Super and I'm considering a GPU upgrade. There's only about a €100 difference between the 5060 Ti and the 5070. I'm wondering if it's worth spending that extra cash on the 5070? How much of a performance boost can I expect with the 5070 (12GB) compared to the 5060 Ti (>12GB)? I'm mainly focused on gaming because while Photoshop and Lightroom work fine, playing at high settings and maintaining 144fps is quite the challenge with my 2060 Super. I'm looking to play games like ARC Raiders, BF6, Apex, Valheim, and Warframe. Any insights would be appreciated!

The 5070 outclasses the 5060 Ti in every way except for VRAM. Unless you’re specifically capped at 12GB, the extra power of the 5070 is worth it, especially when pushing graphics in modern games. You’ll notice a huge difference while playing most new titles, even the ones you mentioned!

For that extra €100, I’d say definitely go for the 5070! It’s going to give you a significant boost in performance, especially if you're gaming at 1080p or 1440p.

Have you checked what the prices for the 9060 XT and 9070 look like where you are? They could be solid alternatives if the prices are decent.

Yeah, the 9060 XT is about €150 under the 5070 and the 9070 is just €100 above it.

You can expect around a 20-25% performance boost going from the 5060 Ti to the 5070. While the 12GB VRAM on the 5070 might seem like it could become outdated, the actual performance of the 5060 Ti will likely decline faster.

If you check out average performance stats, the 5060 Ti offers about double the performance of the 2060 Super, while the 5070 is about 2.5 times better. But honestly, for the games you're playing, the amount of VRAM in the 12GB might not be a big deal.
