I'm thinking about selling my friend a NVIDIA 4060 that I have lying around for a good price. He's currently using a Ryzen 5 4500 for his CPU. I'm concerned about how much of a bottleneck there might be with this combination, especially for playing competitive games at 1080p like Valorant, CS2, and Siege. He plans to eventually upgrade his CPU, but that won't be happening anytime soon since he's already tight on budget for the 4060. I can also give him my old PSU, so power and cables shouldn't be an issue.

The whole bottleneck thing doesn’t apply as much here – he’ll be getting more power and a better gaming experience, no doubt. Plus, it's a solid step up!
While the Ryzen 5 4500 is a bit of a cut down version, it will still perform better than his current setup. He'll enjoy the upgrade for sure!
Not a huge bottleneck with that combo. I'd say go for it! Your friend will definitely notice the upgrade from the 1650.
It’ll be a wild improvement compared to the 1650. For competitive gameplay, he’ll be in a much better spot. He can always think about a CPU upgrade later on.
Honestly, I wouldn’t worry about the bottleneck. He can just adjust the graphics settings if needed, and it will be a lot better overall than the 1650!

Exactly! Just thinking about how much of an upgrade it is from his current card.
