Why won’t my computer boot after upgrading to a 5060 Ti?

I recently upgraded my graphics card to a 5060 Ti from a 1660 Super, so it's a significant upgrade for my setup. However, now my computer won't boot properly. Occasionally, I can reach the BIOS or even the Windows loading screen, but then the display goes dark. I'm looking for any insights on what might have gone wrong or steps I can take to troubleshoot this issue.

When you say it won't boot, do you mean that nothing happens at all, or does it try to post? Also, double-check all your PSU connections. Make sure the power switch jumper cable is secure. Just a heads up, your new GPU recommends a 650W PSU, but you’re using a 600W. It should still boot, but if you’re running any overclocked components, that could be a problem.

I know I'm not quite at the recommended wattage, but I was hoping it would still work. Looks like I might need to rethink my PSU.

Have you tried putting your old GPU back in? If your system boots up fine with the old card, it might help to look for a DDU guide on YouTube to properly uninstall the old drivers before re-installing your new GPU.

Yeah, it boots fine with the old GPU. Do you know any good video recommendations for using DDU?

Make sure you're using the right kind of cables. I've heard that the 5000 series GPUs can be finicky and might need a PCIe gen 5 cable. If you're using an older gen 4 cable, you could run into issues. Try plugging it directly into the motherboard if you're using a riser cable.

Is your power supply new? It could be dead on arrival. Even if the GPU itself is faulty, the PSU should still power the rest of the system. Double-check that all wiring is fully connected and you haven’t missed any crucial connections.

There might be a short circuit somewhere since you've rearranged a lot. Take a look at that and see if everything is seated properly.
