Hey everyone, I recently got my hands on a friend's PC, and it's been a great upgrade from my old one. However, it's been having this frustrating issue that keeps coming back. I thought I fixed it by swapping out the graphics card for my old one, but the problem returned after a week or so.
I've been testing everything thoroughly and even had a professional check it out. All the hardware seems to be running fine with no faults, and benchmarks show everything is okay. However, on the software side, I'm struggling to pinpoint the issue. It feels like it might be a driver problem, but I'm not sure which drivers are causing it.
The crashes only happen when I'm playing games. The display goes black, the sound continues for about 10 seconds, then the whole system restarts. It's happened with both the GTX 1080 and RTX 3070 cards, although the dumps from the 3070 show more failures.
I'm really exhausted trying to solve this, and I hope someone can help me figure it out! Here are the system specs:
- Model: B550M DS3H
- BIOS: F20i (UEFI)
- Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 5600 (6-Core)
- Memory: 16GB RAM
Please let me know if you need anything else!

It sounds like you're dealing with a tricky situation. The blue screen crash you mentioned points to a possible issue with EA's anti-cheat software that could be conflicting with your system. This is pretty common; anti-cheats often cause crashes due to how they're programmed. Also, the TDR failure you're seeing can sometimes be indicative of a problem with the GPU hardware itself, so it might be worth checking for overheating or trying different PCIe slots.
I agree with TechWhiz. While anti-cheat systems can cause issues, you should check your drivers and make sure they’re up-to-date. You could also try safe mode to troubleshoot or roll back any recent updates that might be causing conflicts. Additionally, monitoring your GPU temperatures during gaming can be a smart move to rule out overheating.
I've done some driver updates, but I'll check the temps next time I'm gaming. Thanks for the tips!

So, just to clarify, the issue could be from EA anti-cheat even if it happens in other games? That seems odd, considering I was playing games like BF6 while the crashes happened.
