BitLocker Locked Me Out – What Can I Do?

I'm facing a major issue with my Windows Omen PC. I recently used Medicat for backup and antivirus, but now I'm being hit with a BitLocker prompt asking for a password I don't have. This is particularly frustrating since I can't access my Windows account either, which was set up a long time ago by my uncle. I don't even know his email anymore.

To make matters worse, I turned off boot security to let Medicat run, and now that seems to have caused BitLocker to kick in. I'm wondering if there's any way I can recover the code from my hard drive using Medicat or other tools, or if I should just restore from a backup. Is there a way to find the Windows account email or name through the BIOS? Or am I looking at having to reformat my PC and lose everything?

Honestly, it feels like a mission impossible situation here. BitLocker generated a 48-digit key that’s needed to decrypt your entire drive. Without it, your options are pretty bleak. You might have to wipe the drive and start fresh unless you happen to have a backup made before this whole encryption mess. No backup means you're looking at data loss.

I really wish I had taken better care of my backups. This is such a hassle!

BitLocker is a built-in encryption feature in Windows, so getting your data isn't straightforward. Since you're stuck in the BIOS, you won't be able to access your files without that BitLocker recovery key. If secure boot is disabled, re-enabling it might let you boot into Windows, but it seems BitLocker isn’t letting you through at all right now. Still, it’s worth a shot!

I tried that too, and it still led me to the BitLocker screen. It's so frustrating!

I had a similar problem recently. I managed to boot into recovery mode to restore my system, but I already had a fresh backup. You seem to have hit a tougher spot if you don't even have that. I know it’s a pain, but consider reading through Microsoft’s support articles—they might provide some insight you haven't tried yet.
