I'm having trouble with my Lenovo laptop; it keeps getting stuck in a diagnosis loop and won't reset. It appears I need some sort of security key to perform a reset. Does anyone know what might be causing this issue or how I can fix it?

If you're stuck on the 'Diagnosing your PC' screen, try forcing a shutdown by holding the power button for about 5-10 seconds. Do this a couple of times to trigger the Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE). Once it restarts, keep pressing F11 (or F12 for ThinkPads) to access WinRE. From there, go to Troubleshoot > Reset this PC > Remove everything if you want to start fresh. Just a heads up: you might lose all your data. If you're worried about that, try booting from a USB drive with a Linux image to back up your files first.
It could be that your laptop is linked to a corporate management system, which might be preventing you from resetting it. If that's the case, you'll need to get it removed from whatever company’s asset management software it’s associated with.
If you’re okay with switching from Windows, consider installing a Linux distribution. There are a lot of user-friendly options that might work well for you!
