I'm curious about the differences between G-Sync and FreeSync and whether my GTX 970 graphics card is compatible with either technology. Unfortunately, I can't afford to upgrade my GPU right now.

Your GTX 970 supports G-Sync, but it's important to note that not all FreeSync monitors work with it. G-Sync monitors used to require a special Nvidia chip, while FreeSync is more open and doesn’t need one. Most FreeSync monitors are labeled as G-Sync compatible now, but your GTX 970 won't work with them. So, stick with G-Sync monitors for the best experience.

G-Sync is Nvidia's technology, while FreeSync is from AMD. The GTX 970 can use G-Sync, but it's not compatible with FreeSync monitors since those typically require an AMD card. If you're looking for a G-Sync experience, you should look for G-Sync monitors.

Thanks for the info! How do I actually activate G-Sync on my GTX 970? I checked the Nvidia Control Panel, but I didn’t see the option.
