What does it mean if my Dell OptiPlex 7010’s power button is flashing orange?

I'm experiencing an issue with my Dell OptiPlex 7010 where the power button is just flashing orange, but there are no specific error codes showing up. I've already checked the RAM slots and tried testing the RAM sticks individually, but I'm not sure what the problem could be. Any help would be appreciated!

It might be worth trying to replace the power supply unit (PSU). Sometimes that's the root of the issue, and it's an easier fix than a motherboard problem.

I've seen this orange flashing before, and in most cases, it turned out to be a defective motherboard. Unfortunately, given the age of the 7010, it might be more cost-effective to seek a replacement than to repair it. Just so you know, Dell has reused the OptiPlex 7010 name for newer models too, which could cause confusion about which one you have!

Do you have any tips on how to identify if it's the older or newer model?

Yeah, that's wild! I can definitely see that being a headache for buyers.
