Thoughts on This PC Build for a Friend?

I've been asked by a friend to build a PC for him, and I wanted to get some feedback on the parts he picked out. Here's the list:

- AMD Ryzen 5 9600X
- Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4060 Gaming OC 8G
- MSI Mag X870 Tomahawk
- Samsung 990 EVO Plus 1TB
- Corsair RM850x
- Ant eSports Glacius 360 AIO Liquid Cooler (I know this is a bit unusual)
- Gamdias Atlas M1 Mid Tower Case

Also, my friend already has RAM, so that's covered. What do you all think? Any suggestions or thoughts on this setup?

One big thing missing here is RAM! But also, I wouldn’t suggest the RTX 4060. You might get better performance with something like the RX 9060XT or the 5060Ti, which have more VRAM and are newer. For the motherboard, either a B650 or B850 would probably work without needing to go for the pricey X870.

He’s got the RAM sorted out already, so that’s good! But I appreciate the GPU suggestions; I’ll definitely look into them!

I second those recommendations on GPUs!

Why are you building this if you're not fully confident? It sounds like your friend is picking the parts without much guidance. Just be cautious! But if you’re good at building PCs, I trust you’ll figure it out!

I do have a bit of experience with building PCs, and my friend just gave me free rein over the build. I’m doing it for him, but don’t worry, I’m making sure I get it right!

Just chill, man. With a bit of research, you got this!

Honestly, I wouldn’t opt for an 8GB GPU myself. It might hold back the build in the long run.

I agree with you on that!
