Help! Windows Won’t Activate After Update

I recently had a scheduled Windows update, and after my computer restarted, I noticed a "Activate Windows" watermark on my screen, which was unexpected. When I tried to activate it, I received error code 0xc004f074. I've attempted various fixes, including repairing Windows, rolling back updates, and troubleshooting without success. Since Windows isn't activated, I'm having issues with my audio settings, which is crucial for my work-from-home situation. I'd prefer not to have to purchase a new Windows key since I believe my current one is OEM, given that this is a pre-built PC. I'd appreciate any suggestions on how I can fix, bypass, or activate Windows in other ways. I'm not particularly tech-savvy and English isn't my first language, so any help would be great!

You should try entering your product key to activate it. Since your PC is pre-built, it should have a product key somewhere. Typically, this key is found on a sticker on the case or included in the documentation that came with the PC. If you can find that, give it a shot!

Your activation error `0xc004f074` is pretty common after a Windows update, especially for pre-built PCs. This usually indicates that there's a problem connecting with the activation server. Since you have an OEM license, it should reactivate automatically. Here’s what you can try:

1. Go to **Settings > Update & Security > Activation**.
2. Click the **Troubleshoot** button and follow the instructions to let the troubleshooter attempt to fix the issue.

If that doesn't work, try using PowerShell:
1. Right-click on the Start menu and select **Windows PowerShell (Admin)** or **Command Prompt (Admin)**.
2. Type `wmic path softwarelicensingservice get OA3xOriginalProductKey` and press Enter.

If a 25-character product key shows up, copy it, then go to **Settings > Update & Security > Activation > Change product key** and paste it there. Let me know if this helps!
