Hey everyone! I just got myself a new GPU, the RTX 3060 (12GB), but I haven't upgraded my CPU yet. I'm considering getting the i5-14400F to replace my current i3-9100F. However, I've come across some reports online saying that the 13th and 14th generation Intel CPUs can sometimes fail randomly, which has me second-guessing my choice. I've also seen mentions of BIOS updates that might help, but I'm concerned about messing something up. Unfortunately, I can't switch to the Ryzen 5 7500F because it requires DDR5 RAM and I'd like to stick with my DDR4 RAM to keep costs down. What are your thoughts? Should I steer clear of the i5-14400F?

If you're looking for good performance without the potential issues of the 13/14 gen, you might want to consider the 12600K or KF. They generally perform better and aren't susceptible to the same degradation issues. They might be a little pricier, though.
Regardless of which CPU you choose, make sure you flash to the latest non-beta BIOS. It makes a difference in stability and performance.
Honestly, the only Intel CPUs affected by degradation issues are the K variants. The i5-14400F should be solid for the price. I say go for it! It's a great match with your new GPU.
