I've been looking into building a gaming PC with the following specs: a GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 5070 OC with 12GB of GDDR7 VRAM, a Kingston Fury Renegade 2TB SSD, a 750W DEEPCOOL power supply, and an AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D CPU, among other components. My question is, will this setup be able to handle gaming at 2K ultra settings for the next three years without needing any upgrades? Additionally, I'm curious about whether the 12GB VRAM on the graphics card will be sufficient for future games.

Look, no one can predict the future perfectly. Things might change—like game requirements with new console generations. But as of now, your VRAM could be a limiting factor before anything else. In fact, some current games are already pushing the limits for what the RTX 5070 can handle at ultra settings. So, it's a bit of a gamble!
Honestly, I think you'll be able to use this setup for a good 4-6 years. It's really all about what games you play though. Some current titles may struggle to hit your desired FPS at 2K ultra already, but you'll likely see performance improvements with driver updates. Just remember, if you can lower your settings in the future, that could extend the lifespan considerably!
I’d say you should be fine! Just make sure you opt for RAM with AMD Expo support instead of XMP. While XMP usually works fine, going with Expo could give you a bit more assurance in the long run. You may not run everything at max settings forever, but you should be able to enjoy gaming for a while!
The truth is, we just don’t know. Your PC might be fine for 5 years, or we could see games in 3 years that demand more than 16GB. I remember when choosing a GPU was a lot easier; it’s tough now with so many options on the market!
You might want to consider other options as well. If you're looking for more VRAM, maybe a different GPU like the 7900XTX could be a better fit, although it has its downsides with ray tracing. Just keep in mind, the higher the specs, the better your chances for longevity!

If I built a PC today, I'd aim for similar specs and could see myself using it for 10 years, depending on how things go.
