We're exploring AI tools to help our team with daily tasks and have narrowed it down to ChatGPT Enterprise and Microsoft Copilot for Business, focusing on their privacy features. My main question is whether anyone has experience in implementing these tools and if we can restrict their access to only specific SharePoint sites. Our top priority is data security, so we want to pilot either tool with access limited to certain content on specific sites. Any insights or experiences would be greatly appreciated!

When you purchase a Microsoft 365 Copilot license, you'll receive SharePoint Advanced Management which includes an option to toggle Copilot access for specific sites. Also, you can manage which features of Copilot are available when assigning licenses. It's a comprehensive process that requires time and effort, so be prepared for some trial and error over the next few months. I don't have direct experience with ChatGPT Enterprise, but I'd suggest sticking with Copilot since it's deeply integrated into the Microsoft ecosystem. Once you configure data classification using Purview, you can create stricter access policies.

For documents, have you considered using local language models in Word? They keep all data local and private, which might align with your data security goals. Check out this video for more insights: [Local LLMs in Word](https://youtu.be/9CjPaQ5Iqr0).

Consider some strategies for restricting Gen AI access, like blocking certain tools, limiting file uploads, and setting time-based access. ChatGPT Enterprise doesn’t use your data for training public models, which is a plus. If you set up SAML & SCIM, you can ensure everything stays secure.

Yes, you can definitely restrict access for both tools! Currently, ChatGPT is easier for limiting access for your specific needs. It's a good start for ensuring data security while using these tools.
