What Motherboard Should I Get to Replace My Dying One?

My motherboard is failing—connections keep dropping unexpectedly. I've updated the BIOS, and the warranty period has passed, so I'm seeking a replacement. Currently, I use a B550 Tomahawk with an R9 5900X, RTX 3080, and 64GB RAM (3200MHz). I game and create content, and I'm interested in finding a better motherboard than the one I currently have. I understand AM5 is a significant upgrade and AM6 is coming in the next couple of years, but I plan to do a complete rebuild around that time, so I want something solid for now. What do you suggest?

If you're looking at a solid replacement, the new AM5 boards should offer better performance and features compared to your current B550. Keep an eye out for ones that have ample USB ports and maybe built-in WiFi. And don’t stress too much about whether Zen 6 will be on AM5 or AM6; focus on getting a reliable board for your current setup.

Are you looking for improvements in specific areas? Depending on your needs, you might want a board with more USB ports or better Ethernet. It’s worth thinking about durability too, especially since you're using it for gaming and content creation.
