Why isn’t my second NVMe drive showing up in BIOS?

I'm having trouble getting my second NVMe drive recognized in the BIOS. I'm using Windows 11 and my motherboard is an ASROCK Fatal1ty B450 Gaming K4 with BIOS version 5.6. My first NVMe drive, a Kingston SSD A2000 250GB, is working perfectly and has the operating system installed. However, my second NVMe drive, a Crucial T500 1TB, isn't showing up at all. I've tried different configurations but no luck. I know that the second drive is a PCIe 4.0 4x NVMe, while my motherboard supports PCIe 3x, but I thought they would be compatible. Any ideas on why it might not be detected?

Have you checked which slot you installed the second NVMe in? The M2_2 slot shares lanes with SATA3_3 and SATA3_4, so if any of those ports are in use, M2_2 won't work. Also, the second M.2 slot only provides x2 lanes, meaning it can be limited in speed. It’s possible that’s why it's not showing up if it's not properly configured or if there's a conflict with other drives.

I installed it in M2_2 and I don't have anything connected to the SATA ports. I wasn't aware of the x2 lane limitation, though. Does that mean the second drive can't work properly at all?
