Will a 5070ti Work with My Current PSU Setup?

Hey everyone! I just got a new 5070ti and I'm using a Toughpower GF1 850W PSU. Everything I've read says it should be compatible, but I noticed the GPU comes with this odd 3x8 PCIe adapter. I'm upgrading from a 3060 that only needed two 6x2 cables from the PSU. Am I going to need a different adapter or a new PSU? Can I just plug the two 6x2 cables into different parts of the adapter and make it work?

It sounds like you might be in a bit of a bind. Ideally, you'd want a third PCIe cable to properly power your 5070ti. If your PSU is modular, you should check for any spare cables—they might be hiding in the PSU box! Otherwise, consider getting a new GPU that needs fewer cables or upgrading to a PSU that supports it better.

Right! If you're not spotting a third cable easily, it’s definitely worth getting another PCIe cable so that you can connect everything securely.

Yeah, I haven't completely pulled the PSU out yet to check, so that might be the next step for me.
