I'm new to gaming, so I hope this isn't a dumb question. I want to know if this hard drive would be good for storing all my Steam games for long-term use. I'm concerned about the risk of it failing or losing my data unexpectedly. I mainly play Bethesda games and use a lot of mods. Here's the link to the hard drive: https://amzn.eu/d/bWYtSBG. Any advice would be really helpful!

If it's just older Bethesda titles, it might work, but expect noticeable lag. For newer games, especially those that utilize direct storage features, an SSD is a must.

For heavy games like those from Bethesda, especially with mods, an SSD is definitely the way to go. You might consider getting a 1TB SSD for your current games and a larger HDD for others that you may want to keep installed but aren’t actively playing. This makes switching between games much faster than having to download them every time.

Honestly, mechanical drives like this one aren't great for gaming anymore. I would strongly recommend going for an SSD instead. They're not that much more expensive, especially for a decent size like 1 or 2 TB, and they perform so much better than HDDs.

No way, this HDD is too slow for gaming. You want an SSD or, ideally, an NVMe drive for the best performance. With the drive you're looking at, you're looking at load times that could drag on for way too long.

While this hard drive will hold your games, it's gonna be pretty slow for gaming. You'll face longer load times—sometimes a few minutes. For gaming, SSDs really shine, so I’d suggest getting one if possible.
