I connected a SATA cable to check one of my hard drives, but it shows a 'bad disk' error. It worked fine before and has been stored safely. I'm not sure why this is happening. Is there any way to fix it?

When you see the 'bad disk' error, it's essential to check where it's coming from—Bios, your operating system, or something else like a NAS. You mentioned using MiniTool Partition Wizard on Windows; that helps narrow it down. Knowing the exact error message helps diagnose the problem better.

Hard drives can fail unexpectedly, even if they're stored safely. If it's showing as 'bad', it's usually best to replace it, as it can completely fail at any moment. You might want to try a different SATA cable or connect it to another computer to confirm the error. If you need to recover data, data recovery software is an option, but backups are key for future safety!
