I have an old PCIe 3.0 SSD that I'm currently using with my Windows system. I plan on adding this SSD to my new PC since I've also purchased a new SSD that I want to use as my main system drive. How can I ensure that both SSDs don't conflict with each other? Both PCs are equipped with AMD CPUs.

Make sure to set the new SSD as the primary boot drive in the BIOS. Once that’s done, you can go ahead and format the old SSD if you want.

If you can't format the old SSD for some reason, plug it into the new PC after you’ve got everything set up with the new SSD. Having both SSDs trying to act as boot drives can cause issues. If possible, format the old one before transferring it to avoid any conflicts.

A straightforward approach is to only install the new SSD at first and set it up with Windows. After that, you can add your old drive. You may need to check the BIOS to change the boot order, but it’s usually simple, just look up your motherboard manual for guidance.
