Windows Can’t Detect My New SSD, What Should I Do?

Hey everyone! I just installed a new 2TB Crucial P310 SSD, and while it shows up in the BIOS, it doesn't appear anywhere in Windows. I'm pretty sure it's installed correctly since I'm using the m2b_SB slot on my B550 Elite V2 motherboard. I'm running out of ideas here. Has anyone experienced this issue or know what I could try to get it recognized? Thanks!

Have you checked Disk Management and Device Manager? It’s strange that your SSD shows up in the BIOS but not in Windows. You might need to initialize or format it in Disk Management, but if it’s not even listed there, it could point to a driver issue. Switching from the AMD RAID driver to the Standard NVM Express driver could solve it. Just to confirm, though, does your SSD show up in BIOS without any errors?

It sounds like a tricky situation! First, check if you have the latest BIOS version for your motherboard. Sometimes, if the M2A_CPU slot is occupied, it can cause detection issues as well. If it's not showing up in Disk Management, it might be either a driver problem or a BIOS setting that's off. Make sure you're not using RAID mode if you don't need it, and you might want to update your chipset drivers too. If possible, trying to format the SSD in another system or via a USB enclosure could help as well! There are some threads online discussing similar problems that might give you more ideas too.
