I've been dealing with an issue where several of our Lexmark printers are suddenly displaying a 'Needs new driver' message. This started happening early this morning for most users. These printers are set up through our print server, while our Canons and other brands seem to be working just fine. Interestingly, the problem resolved itself for me within a few hours, and a few other people too, but not all users are so lucky. Has anyone else encountered this problem before? I've come across a few related posts, but nothing that really solves the issue. I'm running Windows 11 24H2 (KB5066835) (26100.6899).

Also, if you want more technical details, check out Microsoft's support page on managing point-and-print driver installation behavior. There's definitely been some changes that could affect how drivers are handled.
Are you folks getting your drivers through Group Policy? This could be related to how PrintNightmare vulnerabilities were managed in the past.

Yeah, they are getting the drivers via GPO. I found a couple of articles talking about the issue, but I think this is a newer problem. Can't really see how an older vulnerability would cause this now.
