Hey everyone! I'm looking to replace my old GPU and I'm torn between two options: the RTX 5070 with 12GB of VRAM and the RTX 5060 Ti with 16GB of VRAM. The 5070 is on sale and only slightly more expensive than the best deal I found for the 5060 Ti. My main concern is whether 12GB of VRAM will be enough for modern games. The 5070 seems to offer better performance, but I'm not super knowledgeable about how VRAM affects gaming. Any thoughts on what I should consider? Thanks!

Don't get swayed by the hype! Choose the 5070; it's just better overall. Even on high settings and ray tracing, it performs better than the 5060 Ti. Future games will likely need more VRAM, but it really depends on what you play and at what resolution. What games are you looking at?
Go for the 5070, no doubt about it! It’s around 30-35% faster than the 5060 Ti, which is a significant boost, especially for gaming. Plus, even at 4K, it still holds up well at about a 30% performance increase.
When it comes to VRAM, it’s all about whether you have enough for the settings and resolution you want to play at. If you run out of VRAM, games could downgrade visuals or even crash. Check out this video comparing the 5060 Ti with 8GB and 16GB in VRAM-heavy games. Spoiler: below 8GB, both perform similarly. The 5070 is faster, but some games needing more than 12GB might force you to lower settings.
I’m mostly into action RPGs and first-person shooters, usually at 1440p or higher.
