I'm curious about the feasibility and market demand for developers who specialize in both web and mobile development. Is it common, and how difficult is it to juggle both areas of expertise?

I used to focus on Android development alongside web dev. It's not incredibly hard to learn both, but I think it can be impractical to balance them at the same time. There are just a lot of moving parts!

What do you mean by impractical? Like, do most web companies not need apps?

Or have you heard of Cordova? It can handle a lot for you!

While one can learn both web and mobile, it is quite tough. Web is slower-paced, while mobile is always changing. Small businesses might value those who do both, but it could lead to burnout. A good strategy is to focus on one area before branching out.

There's definitely a market, especially in smaller companies, but beware of burnout. I was doing web, mobile, and even devops at a tiny firm, and it was exhausting dealing with so many responsibilities at once. Not the best experience!

If you look at something like React Native alongside React web, it's definitely doable. But if you want to tackle Android and iOS native along with web, that's a whole different ballgame—really tough, but if you're determined, you can manage it!

Or they could try using Expo to simplify things!

What environment do you use for React Native?

With constant changes in tech, it’s really challenging to keep up with both paths. Web tech tends to be more stable, while mobile evolves rapidly, making it hard to stay updated without feeling overwhelmed. I'd suggest focusing on one first to build a solid foundation before diving into the other.

Have you tried looking into Flutter or React Native? I think it might make things easier if you're leveraging web technologies.
