Why is my CPU running so hot after upgrading to a new GPU?

I recently upgraded my graphics card from a 3060 to a 5070, and while I've seen a major increase in performance, with frame rates jumping from 100-130 FPS at 1440p to 230-300 FPS, my CPU temperatures have skyrocketed. I'm using a Ryzen 7 5800X3D and a Noctua NHU12S cooler, but now my CPU hits around 91°C under load and idles at over 50°C. Could this increase in CPU temperature be linked to the new GPU?

You're using the Noctua NHU12S cooler, which is a solid choice, but it's important to make sure it's adequate for the load. If your CPU is hitting high temps, consider getting a more powerful cooler or even reapplying thermal paste to improve heat transfer. Better cooling will help you manage temperatures better, especially if you're pushing your CPU hard with the new GPU.

Keep in mind that the new 5070 is a 250W card compared to the 3060's 170W. That extra heat likely affects the overall airflow and temperature in your case. Make sure your case has good airflow to help manage the additional heat. You mentioned having six fans, so you could optimize their placement or consider upgrading to an AIO cooler for more efficient cooling.

I already have three fans in and three fans out for a balanced airflow config and it's maxed out with six fans. Sounds like I need to just get good and join the AIO gang!
